On February 20, 2008 the Moon passed into the Earth's shadow creating a spectacular total lunar eclipse. Unfortunately, I did not get any decent pictures of the total eclipse, but I got some great pictures leading up to the total eclipse. The color variations in the pictures (I believe) come from the use of different settings for shutter speed and aperture setting. The allowance of less or more light seems to have an effect on the coloration of the moon. Enjoy. This is a picture that I made by combining pictures of four different phases of the eclipse. The top left was the earliest in the eclipe, then top right, then bottom left, then bottom right.
